About Georgina Halabi
I am a Professional Certified Coach, Mental Fitness Trainer and Speaker, with over 23 years of commercial leadership and a lifetime of experience in meditation and self-discovery.
It has always been essential for me to balance two fundamental needs: outer success and inner peace.
It hasn’t always been easy, especially when juggling two young kids, a relentless workload, multiple stakeholders and constant change.
The Foundation of Everything
I have been meditating since the age of sixteen, and this practice has become a touchstone for my own sanity and self-development. After moving to Asia, I immersed myself in four years of structured Buddhist study (up to the level of novice monk), exploring deeper perspectives on life, the universe and surviving parenthood!
I have always gravitated towards coaching techniques such as goal articulation, visualisation and NLP to achieve my own goals: from having my two daughters under self-hypnosis to achieving ambitious work goals.
My Early Career Path
I was born and raised in England, and have worked (and played) in London, France, Switzerland and Singapore, where I lived for 18 years.
My career started with a 9-month internship at the International Trade Centre in Geneva (a joint agency of the United Nations and World Trade Organisation), helping businesses in developing economies realise their trading potential. Growing frustrated with the slow pace of change, I moved back to London where I ran business development teams for well-respected marketing agencies, before the travel bug bit me again and I moved to Singapore.
There, I ran regional key account teams in top advertising agencies including Ogilvy & Mather and J. Walter Thompson, before heading up joint ventures with specialist digital agencies looking to break into Asian markets, and launching marketing-technology start-ups in loyalty & digital CRM.
Common Sense and Bravery
In each role, I had to think on my feet and build the plane as I flew it. Common sense, bravery, creativity, strategic thinking and a sense of humour have always got me through.
I know deep in my bones that we each have the power to write our own stories, and that when we’re out of our comfort zone, we are in a zone of growth.
From Macro to Micro
Throughout my career, I have ‘zoomed in’: from large advertising agencies to tech start-ups and from mass marketing to direct communication. I wanted to get closer to the consumer and use insights to make communication more personal and meaningful.
Paradoxically, as I did this, I felt myself getting further and further away from any meaningful connection with my own work. My career had turned into something that revolved around hitting the numbers and I had lost track of what I really wanted, which was to help people create meaningful change for themselves.
The Power of a Single Question
Then, during a Senior Leadership Team meeting, it was as if I floated out of my body, looked down at myself and asked “What am I doing here?”
That question really shook me because I didn’t have a good enough answer. At work, I no longer felt inspired or fulfilled, and I wanted my work to make a real difference. It was time to create meaningful change for myself. I couldn’t ignore it any longer – and I didn’t want to.
Pivot and… shift!
When a friend mentioned coaching, I knew it made sense. Before I knew it, I’d signed up with an amazing school to obtain my International Coaching Federation (ICF) accreditation, and started coaching clients, including the tech company I was at.
When the Covid pandemic hit in 2020, I decided against all odds to throw myself into coaching full time, and have never looked back. I put myself out there, coached my pants off and hit my target of six figures within my first year (OK, it was Singapore dollars, but still an ambitious goal!)
A Lifelong Learner
Call me a geek, but I love learning and I’m passionate about all things to do with mindset and self-growth. I also believe that as coaches, half of our work should be on ourselves, because we can only take our clients as far as we’re willing or able to go.
In 2021, I certified as a Mental Fitness Trainer & Positive Intelligence Coach and in 2024, I achieved a long-term goal of studying under Paul McKenna and qualifying as a Hypnotherapist. My journey is ongoing and I continue to learn every day through curiosity, introspection and the wisdom of my clients.
I moved back to the UK in July 2021 with my husband, two daughters and dog. I love what I do, working with amazing, competent and capable clients all over the world, helping them be their best selves, at work, at play and in life.
