ODE TO THE HUMAN RACE – by Georgina Halabi

Do you ever feel life just rush by
And you can’t keep up the pace?
It’s a constant swirl of activity
That’s just the human race…
The finish line is arbitrary
The rules are self-imparted
And even if you win the race
You forget just why you started.
Take a moment to just slow down
Take a breath for orientation
If you enjoy the people and the path
Then you’ve reached your destination.
It’s easy though to just forget
It’s human to go astray
Know that activity for activities sake
Will never be the way.
So keep checking your inner compass,
And re-find the path that’s true
When you take the time to just be still
That’s where you will find you.
